Samsung Forced to Offer One-Time Free Screen Replacement for Galaxy Smartphones

The vast array of blogs devoted to smartphones have been going on about problems with certain Samsung AMOLED displays on its phones and now we have confirmation that it wasn’t just a case of clickbait chatter. Samsung has recently addressed a display issue affecting older Galaxy smartphones, particularly after a software update in April 2024. This update caused a green line to appear on the screens of several models, including the Galaxy S22 series, S21 series, and Note 20 series. In response to the issue, Samsung’s support team is offering a one-time free screen replacement for the affected devices. This offer applies even if the warranty has expired, provided the phones were purchased within the last three years and do not have physical or water damage.

The specific models eligible for this free replacement are the Galaxy S20 series, Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, the S21 series (excluding the Fan Edition), and the S22 Ultra. The issue has been notable enough for Samsung to recommend that owners of these models visit their nearest service center for the repair.
