Imagination’s Sir Hossein Yassaie Receives 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award in Annual Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards

Imagination Technologies is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Sir Hossein Yassaie, has been honoured with the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award in the prestigious Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards. The award was announced at an annual gala event in London on November 24th. During the same ceremony, Imagination was presented with the Educational Support Award 2015 in recognition of its remarkable MIPSfpga program for CPU architecture education.

The annual Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and companies across Europe, and showcase the finest new products, technology innovations and company performances of the year. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Sir Hossein in recognition of his many contributions to the European semiconductor and electronics industries.

Sir Hossein says: “I am extremely honoured to receive this award, both as recognition of past achievements and also as inspiration for the future. We are entering a defining new era as industries as diverse as automotive, healthcare, agriculture and fashion all take increasing advantage of smart systems and become connected. With the enabling and opportunity-filled nature of the technology sector, it is essential that European companies and governments, at both local and EU levels, work together on policies and plans to enable Europe to maintain and secure its rightful and leading position in many of these key markets. The Elektra awards demonstrate the diversity and vibrancy of the European electronics industry. I am proud that Imagination has been recognised as a strong, valued and influential player in our European electronics systems community.”

Educating the engineers of the future

During the same ceremony, Imagination received the Educational Support Award 2015 for MIPSfpga, the company’s program that transforms CPU architecture education in universities around the globe by offering them free and open access to a fully-validated, current generation MIPS CPU in a complete teaching package.
