Microvision Updates on Engine Progress

With its finance results, Microvision updated on the status of its engines. The firm plans to release three new engines in 2017, the small form-factor HD PSE-0403, the interactive enabled PSE-0403sti that integrates 3D sensing and the mid-range LIDAR engine (PSE-0400Li). It has started to ship samples of the HD PSE-0403 already and plans mass production from Q2 2017. The interactive engine will go into production in Q3 and the LIDAR engine will sample at the end of 2017, with mass production in 2018. The company also said that it has contracted with two top technology companies for proof of concept demonstrators for augmented reality (AR) and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) 3D sensing. Work on those contracts began in 2016 and is continuing in 2017.

In November 2016, MicroVision announced a co-marketing agreement with STMicroelectronics (ST) targeting the joint sales and promotion of MEMS mirror-based LBS solutions for applications such as pico projection, augmented and virtual reality, 3D sensing, and ADAS.
