Acer Loses Smartphone Leader to Qualcomm

The co-president of Acer’s BYOC Smart Products business unit, and head of the smartphone and wearable divisions, is leaving the company to (apparently) join Qualcomm Taiwan as its president. ST Liew joined Acer in 2010 and has worked to grow the mobile device business, including through a collaboration with Victorinox.

Android Headlines says that Acer will make several changes on the 1st October, after Liew has left. Maverick Shih will take over the running of the BYOC business unit, while the smartphone and wearable division will be run by Jerry Kao’s IT Products unit.
