Sony to Stop PlayStation 3 Production This Month

You might not have realised that it is was still being made, but after a little more than 10 years on the market, Sony is to phase out the PlayStation 3 with production stopping later this month.

The last new game released for the console was last year, and discontinuing services on the console has also started. PlayStation 4 and Pro versions are the official replacements.

Best estimates are that Sony has sold more than 83 million PS3 consoles since launch. The PS2 sold more than 155 million during its run and remains the best-selling game console of all time.
