Softbank to Sell 25% of Arm for $8 billion

The Financial Times has reported that Softbank is about to sell 25% of Arm, equating to around $8 billion, to a new Saudi-backed $100 billion investment fund. It is only six months ago that the Japanese bought Arm for $32 billion.

The purchase is likely to give Mubadala, an Abu Dhabi state-backed investment group, greater influence over the global semiconductor industry.
