Shih Names Successor at Asus

Asus’ chairman Jonney Shih has announced that CSO, Ted Hsu, will succeed him within the next two years. Hsu was a founder of Asus and a former VP of Pegatron, who rejoined Asus in May this year. He said that he wants to encourage creativity within the company.

Shih joined Asus in 1992 and has been chairman since 1994. He said during a provisional shareholder meeting that he has a “responsibility to Asustek” to find a successor. The 64-year-old will retire after handing over the chairman position, but did not say whether or not he will remain on the company’s board.
