EBU DG to Leave in the Summer

Ingrid Deltenre, the EBU director general, is leaving her post to focus on other board responsibilities. She has spent eight years in her role at the EBU and will be leaving in the summer. She said that the EBU’s work is invaluable in today’s climate as public service media is coming under increasing pressure from political and economic forces. She also said that it is the EBU’s role to uphold the values of public service media. According to the EBU president, Jean-Paul Phillipot, the EBU has substantially evolved under Deltenre’s leadership and her perseverance, dedication and energy will be missed. The EBU has started its search for a replacement.
