Next Microsoft Surface Book to be Clamshell?

Microsoft has cut the price of its Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 in some countries as it seems to be clearing its inventory before the arrival of the next Surface Book version. There are unconfirmed reports from Asia that Microsoft plans to bring its next range in at significantly lower prices than last year’s model. The rumours also suggest that the next version might be more of a traditional clamshell design, rather than a convertible PC, as well as being a lot cheaper.

I got very, very tempted by the last Surface Book and got close to buying one, but eventually went back to the ThinkPad brand because of issues of warranty (Lenovo has supported me very well in the past and bundles a three year on-site warranty, which I really value). I was also put off by the early reviews on Amazon as the Surface Book had a lot of teething troubles. Those did die down again after some upgrades to firmware and software. (BR)
